OWNERS COMMENTS
OWNERS REMARKS
"Windrunner" is a Dutch built Dick Zaal designed 12.5 M steel yacht relaunched in 2019 after a meticulous rebuild. Only about 40% of the original hull from 1973 remains. The teak interior was removed and then carefully rebuilt with modern modifications throughout. Every joint is glued and screwed, not one squeak at sea from the joinery or floors. There is full standing headroom to the forward bulkhead. The chart table and galley were completely redesigned. There are eight berths throughout including a double and single berth in the rear cabin. Tremendous care has been taken with all the joinery below where all the original quality teak from the 1970’s has been carefully restored. The attention to detail is very special with mood lighting, matching wood grain, teak looking carpet and two custom wine cabinets. Even the galley has a front-loading fridge to free up work top space, it’s a good offshore galley with 4-inch-high edging to keep things in place, deep stainless-steel sink, mixer tap with pressurised hot and cold water. The ceiling is light grey vinyl with 3mm foam with individual panels no wider than 30cm going forward to aft. Adjacent the galley is the large walk-in locker/store for tools, ropes, fenders, and dinghy etc. A very special yet practical yacht.

OWNERS HISTORY
I have had the pleasure in meeting Teun Pooter from Alkmaar in the Netherlands, he commissioned the Dutch yard to build her 1971/72, he worked closely with Dick Zaal, upon meeting him he told me that he had a second yacht built for his father. He kept the yacht until 1983, I do not know the history from 1983 to 1996. August 1996, she reappeared off the coast of Cornwall, but with a £4M drug haul onboard. Windrunner was impounded then confiscated by the HMRC and therefore the first bill of sale only goes back to 1996/97. From then on, she was owned by Nick Douch until August 2014 when purchased by me.
