For sale is our pretty little open harbour launch 'Bluebird'.
She is 5M long and approx 1.8M beam.
The hull and topsides are GRP with wooden seats. One wide bench seat across the engine box, with a smaller version in the bow, and U shaped seating at the stern. Steering is by tiller. She comfortably seats 5 adults. The engine is a bombproof single cylinder Farymann diesel 15w (Ithink....it might be an 18w) of approx 6hp. Its raw water cooled, electric start and charges the battery from an alternator incorporated into the flywheel. Since I've owned Bluebird I've replaced the starter motor and the charge controller / rectifier.
She slips through the water with minimal wake up to about 5 knots, max speed is about 7 knots.and easily runs all day on 5 litres of fuel.
My son and I have used her for exploring the non tidal Thames and fishing. She also makes great family pub transport of an evening.
I bought her from the east coast of England and towed it back to west London, without realising it was actually made by our local boatyard with this patch of the Thames in mind!
Bluebird is very well suited to the river, but could equally be used in sheltered estuaries with a few less people on board to give you a bit more freeboard.
Comes with a good trailer, fenders, nav lights, and a custom made fitted cover.
Has an automatic electric bilge pump, fire extinguisher, and a BSS certificate until 2027.
Regretfully only for sale as I now have too many boats. Apparently.
